Need a new bathtub? Want to overhaul your existing tub? We can help!
Information current as of
This site is geared for those needing information on their bathtub options,
including whirlpools tubs, hot tubs, clawfoot tubs and tub refinishing.
We are do it yourselfers at heart and have done a lot of home remodeling in our time. It is our goal to educate you a little bit about what
your options are when it comes to these tasks in your own home. We also are interested in showing you some of our favorite sites that offer
additional resources, great pictures, and do it yourself guides.
The kitchen is the heart of the home, but the bathroom can bring the most peace and serenity with a long soaking bath or a steamy hot
shower. This site will focus on the bathtub and all your options available. I love a long hot bubble bath, combined with a good book and a great
drink there's nothing better to end a long day.

Styles:
Freestanding Tubs - these can be put anywhere and is usually portrayed in the form of a clawfoot tub, sometimes put right in the middle of the
room. You have absolute design freedom with this tub style.
Platform tubs - These have no finished panels and require that something be built around it, both for safety and looks. Your design freedom
comes in choosing the shape and size of the tub as well as what will be on the surface of the platform. The platform can be built anywhere it
fits in the room. These are usually the most costly option due to the extra materials of the platform itself. Some homeowners get rather
elaborate using expensive marbles and luxurious finishes. Others will use a more standard tile and grout.
Tub materials:
Enameled cast iron - heavy, durable, retains heat, color variety
Fiberglass - cheaper, not quite as durable, good color variety
Enameled steel - resembles cast iron, less costly than cast iron, chips more easily
Acrylic - huge choice of styles, tends to scratch, more costly than fiberglass, lightweight
As you can see you have many options at your disposal. Check out our site for more details on your primary choices, including pictures and
good luck in your project!
